Brooks Sports is the leading company in performance running and walking with a mission to inspire people to run and be active. Our footwear is created using a combination of world class design, biomechanical research and input from podiatrists and other medical professionals. This is shown through industry leading technological breakthroughs such as our BioMogo, a high performance, proprietary midsole material which provides superior comfort in use and is gentler on the environment after use, as well as our Progressive Diagonal Rollbar (PDRB), a tri-density midsole construction offering unmatched support for those feet that overpronate excessively.
Our commitment to making great footwear also includes a commitment to making them for all types of feet. That means not only providing footwear for different biomechanical needs but also offering those shoes in multiple true widths from narrow through extra wide (AA-4E) and in sizes that range from 5 to 16. We are the only company in our industry with an exclusive focus on performance running and walking.
Ultimately, our best ingredient is the people at Brooks who have made us the #1 rated company for customer service in each of the last five years. Be they a long time fan, a retail partner or someone who has yet to experience the Brooks difference, our people work every day to make Brooks the most trusted brand in running and walking.
ElliptiGO, Inc. is the San Diego-based company that created the world’s first outdoor elliptical bicycle. Combining the best of running, cycling and the elliptical trainer, the ElliptiGO® delivers a high-performance workout experience that closely mimics running outdoors while eliminating the impact.
ElliptiGO co-founder and former Ironman triathlete and Marine Bryan Pate was inspired to create the ElliptiGO after injuries plagued him to the point where he could no longer run for fitness. Although he was an experienced cyclist, Pate chose to use the elliptical trainer to stay fit because it was more comfortable than sitting on a bike. Unsatisfied with the experience of working out in a gym, Pate wanted a product that would allow him to enjoy running outdoors without aggravating his injuries. In 2005, Pate partnered with ElliptiGO co-founder Brent Teal, a mechanical engineer, Ironman triathlete and competitive ultra-marathoner, to design and develop the world's first outdoor elliptical bicycle. Comfortable, fun and easy to ride, the ElliptiGO allows healthy and injured athletes alike the opportunity to get a cardio workout in without the jarring impact of running or the discomfort of traditional cycling.
Now, more than a dozen Olympians, 15 Universities, and 50 professional athletes, including current or former NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL players, are leveraging the ElliptiGO for innovative rehabilitation and supplemental training. Elliptical biking has proven to be a great alternative for people who can no longer run because of degenerative conditions and a fun therapeutic exercise for building cardiovascular endurance without aggravating injuries.

F-Scan in Podiatric Sports Medicine
Clinicians face many obstacles when treating the athletic patient with lower extremity and foot injuries. Gait abnormalities, overuse injuries, and musculoskeletal pain are often difficult to diagnose and treat by just observation alone.
In-shoe pressure mapping and computerized gait analysis with Tekscan’s F-Scan system can pinpoint a problem that otherwise would be unseen by the naked eye. By assessing foot function and gait, clinicians can treat the athletic patient utilizing objective and quantifiable data to detect abnormalities in the gait cycle and reduce problem areas. Not only is the F-Scan an ideal diagnostic tool, but it can also be used to assess post-treatment foot function and confirm orthotic efficacy. The end result is an improved athletic performance and thus, a happier patient.
A wireless version of this system is available for use in applications where flexibility and mobility are a must such as running, soccer, baseball, basketball, walking, hockey, football, skiing, and golf.
Established in 1987 and based in Boston, Tekscan is a leading manufacturer of force and pressure measurement systems that provide detailed and accurate data. In addition to in-shoe pressure mapping, Tekscan also manufactures systems that can be used for many other applications including barefoot analysis.
Treat soft tissue pain in your office with a cost-effective, non-surgical alternative:
Radial Pulse Therapy
The Zimmer enPuls uses an electromagnetic generator to produce a series of pulses that radiate through soft tissue to treat pain, increase blood circulation, and affect muscle tone.
Pulsed wave therapy is a tremendous asset to my practice. It is the most effective treatment modality that I use to treat patients suffering from chronic foot pain unrelieved by traditional conservative treatments.
